  • interested in different approaches and ideas.
  • capable of switching between pair, team and organizational coaching.

Systems Inspired Coaching Supervision

Systems Inspired Coaching Supervision is an innovative offering bringing our unique systemic view of supervision to the coaching industry. Over the course of nine months, you’ll encounter coaches working with a variety of systems from partnerships and teams to large organizations. This in-depth training aligns with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) definitions of coaching supervision.

You’ll support coaches as they:

  • consider the quality of their work.
  • grow their capacity.
  • learn from their successes and challenges
  • and care for their own well-being
  • and evolve themselves not only as practitioners, but as human beings doing this work.

CRR Global co-founder Marita Fridjhon is collaborating with Suncica Getter and a global team of senior ORSCC and EMCC-accredited supervisors in designing and delivering this training.

Frequently Asked Questions

Click on the + sign beside the question to learn more.

What does a coaching supervisor do?

As a coaching supervisor, you act as a peer support and confidante rather than as a mentor. Coaching supervision allows your clients to reflect on what is going well with their coaching, and what they can do differently. It’s an opportunity to keep developing professionally, to consider ethical standards in tricky situations, to learn about changes in the industry, and set personal goals.

Are there prerequisites for this training program?

As supervision is based on the coach’s experiences, we recommend this course for those who have already earned their ACC or PCC credential. All CRR Global offerings involve a systems approach. If you have taken ORSC, you will have a better understanding of how relationship systems coaching works – but if not, no problem! We tailor the learning to the needs of each cohort.

Is this a new support for coaches?

Coaching supervision has been around for years, and is increasingly recognized as a valuable support for coaches. The EMCC has consistently recommended coaching supervision as part of professional practice. The ICF now requires coaching supervision as part of their credentialing process for the Advanced Certification in Team Coaching.

Does this program make me a credentialed supervisor?

Yes. After completing this program, you will receive a certified systems-inspired supervisor credential from CRR Global.  It is important to note that completing this program is one of your first steps in becoming credentialed with EMCC Global or other credentialing bodies.  You will still need to apply directly to them after the completion of the program.

How does coaching supervision evolve a coach's practice?

Over the course of this program, you will learn to support coaches to evolve themselves in three ways:
  • Quality – improving the quality of the work that they do with their clients and client organizations.
  • Development – continuing to develop personally and professionally, as they grow their capacity and continually harvest learning from the challenges of their practice.
  • Resourcing – working from ‘source’ rather than from effort, considering how they can sustain themselves and their practices, and increasing their resourcefulness and resilience.

Is this program accredited with any governing agency?

We are on the path to becoming accredited with EMCC Global.  We estimate the completion of this journey in early 2025.  We will look to gain further accreditations throughout the calendar year of 2024.

How does the EMCC describe coaching supervision?

The EMCC defines coaching supervision as “the interaction that occurs when a [coach] brings their [coaching] work experiences to a supervisor in order to be supported and to engage in reflective dialogue and collaborative learning for the development and benefit of the mentor or coach, their clients and their organizations.”

Supervision develops the competence and capability of the coach, provides a supportive space to process the experiences they have had when working with clients, and encourages professional practice related to quality, standards and ethics.

What is the ICF's definition of coaching supervision?

The ICF defines coaching supervision as  “a collaborative learning practice to continually build the capacity of the coach through reflective dialogue for the benefit of both coaches and clients. Coaching Supervision focuses on the development of the coach’s capacity through offering a richer and broader opportunity for support and development. Coaching Supervision creates a safe environment for the coach to share their successes and failures in becoming masterful in the way they work with their clients.”

Why choose CRR Global's supervisor training program?

Systems coaching is complex! For over two decades, we’ve been training coaches how to work with systems of any size – from pairs to teams to global organizations. Our Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC™) model was the first systems coaching training to be accredited by the ICF. This supervisor training program draws on the same concepts that ORSC coaches are already using all over the world.  Research shows that training in one particular model creates much better outcomes. The ORSC model is the foundation of this program, anchoring participants and allowing for deep exploration.
