FAQ
Why become an ORSC coach and leader?
ORSC is a neutral model which supports coaching and leadership in any industry. Establish a new market niche for yourself as you learn how to coach systems of every size. ORSC can benefit:
- Personal and executive coaches who want to develop a new market niche—coaching relationship systems in their industry of choice.
- Managers, OD consultants and HR professionals who will benefit from an effective relationship systems approach to working with groups and teams.
- Allied professionals already engaged in working with groups, teams and partnerships, including mediators, lawyers, couples and family therapists.
- Anyone who relies on relationships to drive their business.
How is an ORSC course structured?
You will be welcomed by course leaders who are professional systems coaches themselves. Whether you are meeting in person or in a virtual setting, your leader will consult with the group to tailor your experience.
This is experiential learning backed by solid theory and years of experience in working with team and systems coaching. Come prepared to actively participate, as you will have numerous opportunities to practice. You will learn by doing, receiving feedback on your newly acquired skills.
Most of the courses in the series deepen your learning by requiring you to coach a system as part of your homework.
Who teaches the courses?
We are proud of the quality of our faculty. In addition to holding a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) every one of our Front of Room Leaders is certified in ORSC and can share wisdom from careers supporting various industries.
How does ORSC work with other coaching and training methodologies?
ORSC shows you how to make the paradigm shift to coaching and leading the whole system. You will find yourself using this awareness while working with other applications, mental models and approaches. Many find that concepts they already use in their work become even more effective when coupled with ORSC principles.
What will I learn in ORSC Fundamentals or ORS@Work?
In the foundational course, you will learn five key ORSC tools:
Creating Designed Partnership Alliances (DTAs): Think of a DTA as the ground rules for relationship. With your support, the person, team or organization will choose the outline for the environment they want to co-create. This builds co-responsibility for the outcomes and determines how the relationship system addresses challenges.
Coaching the Third Entity: Each group, team or partnership is more than just a collection of individuals. You will learn to see this “personality” as your client, rather than the individuals involved. Through the Third Entity, we can harness the combined experiences and wisdom of the group.
Alignment Skills: You will learn how to establish boundaries and limitations while focusing on the common interests of your clients.
Constellating a System: Using an exercise called Informal Constellations, you will gain the ability to reveal the roles and positions each team member holds directing future options.
Accessing the Relationship Myth: You will learn how to support your clients in uncovering and working with the original narrative that exists within the relationship system, tapping into its symbolic power to create awareness and guide transformation.
By the end of the course, you will have developed a deeper understanding of team dynamics. You will also know how to facilitate intentional and accountable conversations, align different viewpoints to impact the collective whole, and support your clients through change and development initiatives.
