INSIGHTS INTO
Third Entity

The unique intelligence of a system
The Third Entity™ is our name for the network of relationship between members of a team or system.
A complex world requires a different style of leadership, one which springs from who we are together. Relationship Systems Intelligence (RSI™) is an awareness of and the ability to work with the invisible network of connection that we call the Third Entity.
- In any relationship, there is me, there is you, and there is the essence or personality that only exists when we come together. We call this the relationship system or the Third Entity.
- Consider John, Paul, George and Ringo. We think of them as a collective: the Beatles. Together, they had an energy that encompassed all of them as individuals.
- The character of their Third Entity continued to evolve over time.
More than 20 years ago, CRR Global was the first to come up with the concept of coaching a system as a whole. This idea has proved so effective that it is now part of the ICF Team Coaching Competencies.
An ancient idea
ARISTOTLE
The totality is not, as it were, a mere heap, but the whole is something besides its parts.
My model for business is the Beatles .... They balanced each other and the total was greater than the sum of its parts.
STEVE JOBS
And that's how I see business. Great things in business are never done by one person; they are done by a team of people.
