How to explain coaching to consistently attract new clients
Co-Leads | Mary Cravets and Michael Holton

Coaching is amazing, transformational and… it can be really difficult to explain! How do you describe the value of what you do so you’re attracting new clients, instead of confusing or overwhelming people?
In this ORSC Community call, Mary Cravets leads a frank discussion about the counter-intuitive leap you’ll need to take in order to speak directly to the deepest desires of your prospective clients. Come ready to challenge your assumptions and make a big shift in how you’re talking about your business.
Participants will:
- discover the right time to explain the specifics of coaching, and why this timing is so important.
- develop a clear, compelling answer to the question “what do you do?”
- step back and look at the bigger picture by assessing six essential elements of client generation that allow you to attract great clients without social media.

We’re not just coaching people — we’re coaching the relationship between them. Whether you’re working with individuals or teams, the space between is alive with signals, dynamics, and untapped intelligence.
Through reflection, and dialogue, we will explore:
- how to engage the Third Entity™ in both individual and team coaching
- ways to recognize the coaching relationship as a dynamic system with its own voice
- tools to track patterns, energy shifts, and unspoken tensions in the relational field.
Please join our ORSC Community as we explore the dynamic systems within coaching relationships.

Coaching often asks us to stay present in the middle of uncertainty, tension and change. Over time, that takes a mental, emotional and somatic toll.
Just pushing through or staying positive are not enough to stay resilient in this work. We must develop the capacity to remain grounded, responsive and connected even when the system is activated.
In this ORSC Community of Practice, we will explore resilience as a relational and embodied practice. How do we stay resourced while working with intensity? How do we recognize when we are losing our center and how do we return?
Through reflection, dialogue and experiential practice, we will explore:
- how to recognize the early signs of depletion, activation and overextension.
- practices for re-centering in the moment, not just after the fact.
- ways to work with the emotional and relational field without absorbing it.
This session invites you to strengthen your capacity to stay present in the work, without losing yourself in it.

The ORSC Community Calls Will Return
Come meet us in the fall!
Our first call of the 2026/27 season is on September 24th. To get on the list, use the RSVP button below.
Not everyone experiences the world — or a coaching conversation — in the same way. Neurodiversity invites us to recognize and work with different patterns of thinking, sensing and communicating, including what happens beyond words.
In this ORSC Community of Practice, we will explore how to create coaching relationships that are responsive to a wider range of cognitive and emotional styles. Rather than assuming a single “right” way of engaging, we will look at how our own habits as coaches may unintentionally limit who can fully show up and participate.
Through reflection, dialogue and experiential practice, we will explore:
- how different nervous systems process information, emotion, sensory input and interaction.
- how non‑verbal communication (silence, movement, tone, facial expression, absence of expression) shapes meaning (often differently for different people).
- ways to adapt pacing, language, sensory load and structure in coaching conversations.
- how to create relational safety that includes (not normalizes) difference.
This session invites you to expand your awareness and flexibility as a coach, so you can meet clients and systems where they actually are — and support more effective and meaningful change.
