While teaching at a private junior and senior high school in Tokyo, Fuyuo Sato became increasingly drawn to the complexity and richness of human communication. His curiosity led him to deepen his exploration through programs such as a cross-cultural awareness training course.
In 2003, he began studying coaching and subsequently launched his career as an internal school coach, supporting his colleagues and staff at the school where he worked. Over seven years, he conducted more than 1,200 sessions, contributing to the revitalization of the school organization by fostering dialogue and reflection.
After becoming an independent coach, Fuyuo expanded his field of work across Japan and the broader APAC region, including China and Singapore. He has since been engaged in organizational development and coaching initiatives with a wide range of clients, from large global corporations to nonprofit organizations.
Fuyuo’s strength as a coach is in providing a safe, empowering space for his clients. He is a certified ORSC Coach (ORSCC), Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and a Leadership Circle Certified Profiler (LCCP). These credentials support his work with global leaders and teams across the APAC region as they navigate complexity, foster Relationship Systems Intelligence (RSI™), and align around shared purpose.
Fuyuo also deepened his connection with nature by participating in numerous outdoor programs both in Japan and abroad. This included the Tracker School and the Boulder Outdoor Survival School, two of the world’s largest and most respected outdoor education institutions. Building on his reflections on the relationship between nature and humanity, Fuyuo co-developed a program called ORS@Nature with his fellow faculty member, Izumi Shimazaki. The program invites participants to explore systems and relationships through the lens of nature and is now offered as a part of CRR Global Japan’s offerings.
Fuyuo has now relocated with his family to a forested area at the foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains. Together with his family and close community, he continues to explore his life’s central theme—”Life exists within relationships”—a concept by philosopher Takashi Uchida.
