Yan Zhang is an executive and team coach dedicated to unlocking the power and wisdom in individuals, teams and organizations. Her work focuses on catalyzing leadership transformation and system-level change. She believes that how we relate with ourselves, each other and with systems determines how we lead.
She works with senior executives, entrepreneurs and cross-cultural teams across large and small companies in industries ranging from financial services and technology to healthcare, education and social enterprises.
Her strength lies in deepening awareness, expanding relational intelligence and building resilient, high-trust teams. She supports others to come away not only with clearer strategies, but also with the courage and capacity to face conflict, embody purpose and co-create transformation.
Yan’s approach blends rigor and heart. Drawing on Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC), Co-Active Coaching, and Neuro-Transformational practices, she works experientially with individuals and teams to leverage deep democracy, embodiment and envisioning, systems mapping and deep listening. She holds the coaching space with kindness and curiosity, guiding systems to surface hidden dynamics and to step into new possibilities of collaboration and collective leadership.
Her training includes CRR Global (ORSCC), the Co-Active Training Institute (CPCC), Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder-Centered Coaching, Neuro-Transformational Coaching and Positive Psychology. In addition, she holds a master’s in business administration from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in economics from Harvard. She has served as a senior executive with companies such as McKinsey, GE, S&P Global, and multiple startups.
The principles that guide Yan are trust, curiosity, courage and connection. She trusts that every system has inherent wisdom and creativity, and her role is to evoke and unlock that latent potential. As an ORSC faculty member, her invitation is to step into the adventure of seeing systems wholly, and unlocking the power and wisdom within. Together, we can turn conflict into camaraderie, difference into strength, and complexity into collective intelligence — creating not only successful organizations but also more humanistic and flourishing communities.
