The world is our work
Worldwork Reimagined recognizes that each of us continually influences the systems we inhabit, whether we are aware of it or not. Although this influence can lead to significant acts of service or community engagement, Worldwork always begins with the self. Personal awareness, responsibility and intentional choice form the foundation of meaningful systemic impact.
As a global community, we live in a time marked by uncertainty, rapid change, cultural tension and evolving relational dynamics. These conditions invite us to consider who we want to be and how we want to show up. At CRR Global, we believe that relationships matter, and that every voice, role, and perspective deserves acknowledgment. Through Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC™), we support people in unfolding, influencing and transforming the systems around them.
What is Worldwork?
Worldwork (originally conceptualized by Dr. Arnold Mindell and Dr. Amy Mindell) is a systemic approach and awareness stance for engaging with human relationship systems.
- It brings attention to both the individual and the collective and helps people work with the dynamics of conflict, identity, culture, emotion and power. Worldwork draws from psychology, ecology and social theory to understand how personal experience and larger social forces shape the way groups, partnerships, communities and organizations evolve.
- It also helps people notice how a system expresses itself through roles, signals, patterns and emotional fields.
- Key elements of Worldwork include visible and invisible roles, the influence of rank and privilege, and the signals that reveal a system’s deeper messages.
- It is grounded in the principle of deep democracy, which holds that every voice and emotional experience has value.
- Worldwork also explores the dreaming level of a system, where symbolic and emotional forces shape behavior. Conflict is viewed as information that can lead to insight and growth.
Worldwork offers a relational and systemic way to help groups move from polarization and tension toward connection, resilience and shared understanding.
An invitation to the Worldwork Collaborative
The Worldwork Collaborative is a community of ORSC students and alumni seeking support, learning, relationship and community as we engage in this work together.
Worldwork is an approach, an attitude and a practice of bringing awareness to the innermost reaches of the “me,” the “we,” and the “us.” It invites us to explore ourselves, our relationships and the larger systems of which we are a part.
As Worldworkers, we lean toward complexity. We engage differences, tensions, power dynamics and the voices that are often unseen or unheard. Through awareness and relationship, we expand our capacity to hold multiple truths, discover new possibilities and contribute to a more conscious and connected world.
Worldwork can affirm your deepest values and inspire your vision for the world. It can also challenge you, stretch you and require energy as you bring new awareness into everyday life and action.
This collaborative is intended to be a place of reflection, encouragement, practice and connection. As Margaret Wheatley reminds us, “Change happens through emergence.” When people become connected, exchange information, and learn together, separate efforts can evolve into meaningful change capable of influencing larger systems.
We will gather for monthly community calls, hosted by the Candlelight Committee and by members of our community. We hope you will join us as we learn, practice and support one another in the ongoing journey of Worldwork.
The Worldwork Collaborative is supported by the Candlelight Committee, a team of CRR Global faculty members whose work casts light on issues that create divisions between us. We offer the resources we have — the passion and empathy of our people, combined with Relationship Systems Intelligence (RSI™) principles, tools and skills — to support the development of systems where everyone can flourish.
Worldwork Projects
CRR Global holds that all our students, alumni and practitioners are powerful worldworkers, no matter where in the world they are located. ORSC is a neutral skillset that can be applied to improving relationship in any context.
As part of the ORSC Certification journey, students are tasked with applying this skillset to a project of their choice. The scope can be large or small, supporting better relationship in a family, a company or across boundaries and borders.
